My son wanted to make breakfast for us today so while he was frying that beautiful stack of french toast, he asked me to cut up some fruit, slice up a tomato and pour some milk to round out the meal. I am really enjoying having someone in the kitchen with me eager to learn (and quite good at it so far!)

Make tomato sauce! We were given a basketful of fresh organic tomatoes from my MIL’s garden last weekend. I’m one of those rare souls who do not care for raw tomatoes at all, so instead I used them to make a nice pot of pasta sauce instead!

I love curry! And if you have a few things on hand it is a VERY quick meal to prepare! I like to keep pre-cooked and chopped meat in the freezer and use frozen veggies for this to make it a REALLY quick meal but you could fry up some meat and veggies fresh too. I’ve tried many different recipes trying to find the perfect baked oatmeal. They were all good but never fit exactly what I was looking for. They were either too dense and chewy or they were gooey and unpleasant. I have finally tweaked a recipe to perfection and is now one of my go to breakfast recipes. It tastes sort of like oatmeal cookies and it’s almost like a crumbly cake, perfect to enjoy plain or topped with butter, cream and or berries.
